13 × 19 in | Mixed Media on Brushed Metal | Original

A Walk in the Clouds captures a timeless moment in Casablanca — a gentle merging of life in motion and sacred stillness. Rendered on brushed metal using mixed media overlays, this work invites the viewer to slow down and witness a scene that feels both grounded and transcendent.

The piece features local Moroccan families walking near the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s most breathtaking architectural tributes to faith. Set along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the mosque appears to rise directly from the sea — a place where earth meets sky and prayer meets presence. The towering minaret — the tallest in the world — anchors the composition, while the everyday footsteps of men, women, and children offer a beautiful contrast: movement against monument.

There is softness in this moment. The sky is expansive but gentle, the architecture powerful but not overpowering. The brushed metal beneath the imagery gives the entire piece a reflective quality — as if the light itself is part of the story.

I created this work not simply to portray a place, but to honor the energy of it. The grace in small human moments. The sacred woven into the everyday. A reminder that even in the vastness of the world, there is always a path beneath our feet — sometimes steady, sometimes slow — but always guided by something greater.
