15 × 11 in | Mixed Media on Metal | Unique Work #M21

There’s something about early mornings — that in-between space where silence still holds, and light hasn’t fully declared itself. This piece captures that fleeting threshold. A delicate blue hummingbird, hand-touched with layers of ink and metallic overlays, hovers mid-flight — suspended against a dreamy black-and-white botanical world. It is motion inside stillness. A whisper of presence.

Crafted on metal, this unique work is sealed with an epoxy finish, allowing the bird to shimmer and shift with the light. The background remains intentionally subdued, allowing the color and spirit of the hummingbird to carry the viewer into a moment of gentle awakening.

I’ve always adored hummingbirds. There’s a kind of magic in their presence — they appear and disappear so quickly, you’re never quite sure if you imagined them. That’s what life feels like sometimes: if you don’t slow down, if you don’t notice, it vanishes before you’ve fully arrived. Early Mornings is my reminder to stay soft, alert, and open — to notice what’s here, before it’s gone.
