This 13 x 13 inch mixed-media original is my interpretation of the Scorpio zodiac — bold, magnetic, mysterious, and fiercely alive. Created on brushed metal, the piece features a hand-detailed scorpion surrounded by celestial constellations and shifting blue energy forms. Multiple layers of specialty color-changing inks were used to create a dynamic effect: as sunlight moves across the artwork, the scorpion’s highlights ignite, the blues deepen, and new details emerge. When evening arrives, the piece releases a gentle glow, revealing an entirely different dimension.
Over 15 hours of precision work went into building the texture, luminosity, and depth of this piece. It is sealed beneath a high-gloss resin to preserve its vibrance and ensure it lasts for generations.
